Southeast Indiana is full of diverse and interesting archaeological sites, and now there’s an organization working to preserve that rich history. Headquartered in Lawrenceburg, the Archaeological Research Institute, or ARI, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating the public about archaeology, land stewardship and descendant communities through hands-on experiences, archaeology tours and community events, helping to provide a bridge between past and present cultures. Check out their many summer events, including augmented reality tours of their Native Guard Archaeological Preserve Site, speaker series, field experiences, artifact ID sessions and more.
