Don’t forget – your last chance to tour Hillforest for the 2025 season is the end of this month! This elegant Italianate mansion, located on hilltop overlooking the City of Aurora, has been gracing the lives of the community’s residents and visitors since 1855. Its steamboat-style architecture and classic Victorian features immediately transport you back to a time when steamboats plied the nearby Ohio River, bringing passengers and goods to a thriving nineteenth-century small town. Hillforest is currently all decked out for the holiday season and will remain open for tours on Tuesdays-Sundays through December 30. It is closed both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The property will then close for the season before opening again in the spring.
