Did you know that one of the region’s most important wetlands area is located right here in Dearborn County? Consisting of thousands of acres of natural land, the Oxbow is located in a large floodplain situated adjacent to the Ohio River in Greendale, and is home to a significant number of local and migratory bird species, including ducks, geese, shorebirds, herons, raptors, and songbirds. Visitors can hike through the Oxbow on their own, or participate in one of the regularly-planned guided tours, including one scheduled for this month on August 22.
