It’s nearly time for Hillforest’s Bags and Bucks Bingo event, an annual “Girls’ Night Out” planned for the evening of August 6. Enjoy 20 games of bingo plus snacks, a cash bar, split-the-pot, and the chance to win a new purse. This year’s event will be held at Clayton Batchelor Pavilion, with a $30 admission fee. Proceeds from the evening will benefit the operating support of Hillforest Victorian House Museum. Reservations for this 21-and-over event are a must, and can be made by calling Hillforest at 812-926-0087.
Located in the scenic City of Aurora along the Ohio River, Hillforest welcomes visitors from April through December. The mansion is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has been designated as a National Historic Landmark. Its unique steamboat-style architecture – including an ornate entrance, dramatic third-floor cupola and period-style rooms – transport visitors back to the mid-19th century, when Aurora was a thriving river port. Visitors will also want to mark their calendars for the many teas, tours and special events that take place at Hillforest throughout the year.
