Memorial Day traditionally marks the start of the busy summer travel season, with millions of Americans expected to hit the road in the months ahead. In honor of the impact these travelers have on our nation and economy, the week of May 19-25 has been designated as National Travel and Tourism Week this year. Celebrated across the country, the observance highlights the effect of travel and tourism on the North American economy, including the industry’s influence on jobs, economic development, culture and society. In Indiana, it is known Visit Indiana Week.
