The Liberty Theater in Downtown Lawrenceburg is set to host a special evening unveiling their brand-new vertical blade sign. The design is influenced by the past and compliments our
community’s historic streetscape. Over 250 exposed light bulbs shine “LIBERTY” twenty feet into
the air with LED stripe tubing accenting the sign’s vertical rise with a red glow.
The historic venue will turn on their new blade sign for the first time during “The Big Turn On” Friday November 14.
The project is funded by Dearborn County Convention and Tourism Bureau to help promote
business, encourage tourism, festivals and economic development in Dearborn County.
Additional support was provided by Lawrenceburg Redevelopment Commission.
Evening to feature free show
Featured performer Heather Redman & The Reputation will carry the celebration into the night with a free show starting 9pm. Heather Redman & The Reputation mine the depths of 60s and
70s soul while delivering a raw new energy of sound by seamlessly combining elements of psych and garage rock.
Whiskey Tasting
Visitors can come early for a Whiskey Tasting by distiller Four Roses sampling their expressions starting at 5pm. A Four Roses charred oak cocktail barrel will be dedicated as part of Liberty’s Stage-Aged Whiskey Series. The filled cask will share The Liberty Stage with performers for the next six months. The music created will “sonically message” the whiskey inside, facilitating the double-oaked filtering process.
About the Liberty
Built 1893, The Liberty Theater is a historic landmark and originally a German music theater
called Liedertafel Hall — meaning “song table.” Converted for movies in 1921 and later named The Liberty Theater during WWII, her stage remained dormant for more than 60 years.
The theater’s recent renovation has won multiple design and historic preservation awards. The fully renovated and restored Liberty Theater reopened in September of last year.
