A brand-new holiday event is coming to Southeast Indiana – the inaugural Model Railroad Expo taking place at the Liberty Theater. Planned for the weekend of December 13-15, the free event will feature large HO and O-scale running layouts on display in partnership with the Southern Indiana Model Railroading Association.

Located just one block from the railroad tracks in historic Downtown Lawrenceburg, the Liberty Theater is the ideal setting for this first-ever event. Originally built in 1893 as home to the Liedertafel Society, the theater is the longest-standing public hall in Downtown Lawrenceburg and opened in September after extensive renovations. Located on Walnut Street in the City’s historic district, the venue is a premier original live music site and features onsite food service, a draft beer, bourbon and whiskey bar, plus regular brunches and special events.

The Model Railroad Expo will run on Friday, December 13 from 3-8pm; Saturday, December 14 from 10am-8pm; and Sunday, December 15 from 10am-6pm. The Expo is free and is open to all ages.
