Downtown Lawrenceburg will come alive with music, cycling, and the flavor of Indiana whiskey this Saturday, July 19th during the Pickin’ N Sippin’ Whiskey Festival & Whiskey City Bike Challenge. This free-admission event is sponsored by the City of Lawrenceburg.

Beginning at noon and running until 11pm, visitors can enjoy “pickin’” from nine bluegrass bands along Walnut Street in the city’s downtown district, kicking off with The Watson Twins. Spectators also won’t want to miss the thrill of live professional cycling starting at 1pm. The high-speed men’s and women’s races will run along a course throughout the streets of Downtown Lawrenceburg until 10pm. The start and finish line of the bike race will be located in front of Parkside Market, 98 East High Street.

Finally, from 4-8pm attendees can enjoy samplings of some of Indiana’s finest whiskeys at the Whiskey City Liberty Theater. The beautifully restored theater – home to live music, special events and the Stage Left Whiskey Bar – is the perfect venue for this first-annual event due to Lawrenceburg’s deep ties to the distilling industry and historic identity as Indiana’s “Whiskey City.”

We hope you’ll join us for this special event! Then be sure to check out our Enjoy Southeast Indiana website for more info on summer accommodations, dining, festivals, events and more.
