Visitors to Southeast Indiana will enjoy pioneer demonstrations and activities of all types later this month at the Dearborn County Historical Society’s Pioneer Day. The free event will take place from 10am-2pm on Saturday, September 28 at the Angevine Cabin on High Street in downtown Lawrenceburg.

The event is a great opportunity for visitors to explore early 1800s history and culture, with historic demonstrations depicting what life was like in Indiana during the pioneer era. Attendees can meet pioneer re-enactors including Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln, check out live demonstrations, enjoy pioneer games and crafts, see a real horse-drawn huckster wagon, and tour the circa-1820 Angevine Cabin and Vance-Tousey House, a federal-style historic home built around 1818.

We’ve got so many events taking place this month in Southeast Indiana! Looking for more to see and do this fall? Follow us on Facebook or Instagram, or check out our Visit Southeast Indiana website to start planning your getaway.
