Five historic homes in the City of Greendale, Indiana (plus one bonus home in Lawrenceburg) will open their doors to visitors this month for a special one-day home tour event. Greendale’s fourth-annual Christmas on the Avenue will take place in this historic Southeast Indiana community on Saturday, December 14.

The five festively-decorated properties on Ridge Avenue in Greendale reflect the history of residents who helped shape and grow the Greendale and Lawrenceburg communities. Participants can visit the 1866 Greyhound Manor at 337 Ridge Ave.; the 1929 Diehl-Krider Home, 548 Ridge; the 1849 Ludlow-Johnson Home, 450 Ridge; the 1911 Ruth-Wood Home, 477 Ridge; and the 1938 Tebbs-Rowlett Home, 657 Ridge. Also included as an offsite bonus is the historic Daniel S. Major house, often referred to as Twin Bays, on US 50 in Lawrenceburg.

The event will run from 5-9pm, with check-in registration and wristband pick-up taking place at the Greendale First Church of Christ, 421 Ridge Ave, Greendale, from 4:30-8pm.

Tickets to Greendale’s Christmas on the Avenue are $25 for adults and $10 for children ages 6-12. All proceeds from the evening will benefit the Dearborn County Historical Society for upkeep of the Vance-Tousey House and Angevine Cabin.
