Indiana Special Olympics athletes will return to Perfect North Slopes this month for the 2026 Winter Games, a multi-day competition held at the Lawrenceburg-area ski slopes. Sponsored by Special Olympics Indiana, the 45th-Annual Winter Games will take place January 11-13.

The event will kick off Sunday evening with the Winter Games Opening Ceremony at Higher Ground Conference & Retreat Center. The next day (Monday) will feature practice on the snow, and preliminaries at Perfect North, followed by the final competition round and awards taking place on Tuesday. Special Olympics athletes of all abilities will compete in alpine skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing throughout the event, bringing hundreds of athletes, coaches and chaperones to the Southeast Indiana region.

Special Olympics Indiana is a non-profit organization that works to provide sports training and athletic competition opportunities to both children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

Later in the month, Perfect North will be the site of an additional Special Olympics competition, when Special Olympics Kentucky brings their Winter Games to the ski area January 25-27.
